These joined sleeves make perfect protection for your arms when you want to wear chainmail sleeves without actually overburdening you with a full chainmail shirt under your cuirass. It has a convenient design popular in the 14th and 15th centuries and was commonly used by men at arms or even foot soldiers wearing cuirass and brigandine to avoid being encumbered by the weight of their armour.
It is intricately HANDMADE from butted 16 gauge mild steel rings, each with a diameter of approx. 10 mm. It is this feature of being butted that makes it affordable and hence, popular in LARP, Renaissance fair and other medieval events.
