This replica is based on an archaeological find from Birka (Grave 989), one of the most important Viking trading settlements. Vikings placed great importance on personal grooming and hygiene. Excavations have uncovered grooming sets with combs, tweezers, nail cleaners and the Viking ear spoon, which was carried together on a ring. These beautifully crafted tools depict cleanliness, personal care, and social status.
