The Birka Wolf Viking Belt Stud is a faithful replica of a historic Viking belt fittings which were discovered at the famous archaeological site of Birka in Sweden. Crafted from solid brass, each stud has the wolf head design found on the original Viking Age belt mounts.

Supplied as a set of five, these decorative studs are ideal for enhancing Viking belts, pouches, scabbards, armor accessories, bags and a wide variety of leathercraft and DIY projects.

Inspired by the Archaeological Finds of Birka

The original Birka Wolf fitting was found during excavations at Birka, one of the most important Viking trading towns. Located on Björkö Island in today’s Sweden, Birka was famous between the 8th and 10th centuries and became a major centre for trade.

Belts decorated with metal mounts were worn by both men and women and were often placed in graves as valued personal possessions.

The wolf motif shows the admiration Vikings had for powerful animals, making this a famous decorative fittings from the Viking Age.

Each Wolf Belt Stud is crafted from solid brass for strength, longevity, and an historical look.

Three mounting pins on the back allow the fitting to be securely attached to leather. Simply insert the pins through pre-made holes and bend them over to create a firm and reliable hold.
