A tribute to medieval battlefield innovation, this winged spearhead is designed with both offense and control in mind. Forged from 6mm mild steel, its robust construction makes it a reliable component for martial training and authentic displays. The leaf-shaped blade was a favored form for piercing through armor gaps and padded cloth defenses in medieval warfare.
What sets this design apart are its side lugs (or wings)—a form developed in the High to Late Middle Ages. These projections prevented over-penetration during a thrust and allowed the wielder to trap or redirect enemy weapons, making it a tactical favorite among infantrymen, guards, and foot soldiers of the 12th–14th centuries.
Finished in a deep oil-black coating, it not only mirrors the subdued tones of period weapons but also provides resistance to rust. The hollow socket base ensures secure mounting onto a wooden shaft (not included), while the 6mm thickness ensures this spearhead can withstand the rigors of theatrical combat or rigorous training—provided proper safety precautions are followed.
