These Viking winingas leg wraps are inspired by the practical leg bindings worn during the Viking Age and the medieval period. Sold as a pair, they are available in different colors. They are a simple and essential part of historical clothing.
In Viking and early medieval times, viking leg wraps were used to secure trousers, protect the lower legs, and for warmth during travel, farming, or battle. Wrapped firmly around the calf from ankle upwards, they helped keep fabric in place and prevented dirt, mud, and wind from entering footwear.
Each pair is made from a 70% wool and 30% blended fiber fabric. Wool is naturally insulating, breathable, and moisture–wicking. It keeps legs warm. Wool is also durable, slightly stretchable, and resistant to odors, making it ideal for long use of wear during events. These medieval leg wraps measure about 145 cm in length and 4 inches in width, for enough coverage.
We also include two brass fibula brooches with this pair to help secure the wraps firmly in place. Brass is naturally corrosion resistant, making it great for outdoor events and long-term use. Over time, the brass may develop a rich natural patina.
Whether used as part of a Viking outfit, early medieval costume, or LARP attire, these leg wraps viking style bindings add both historical accuracy and practical function.
