Winingas Leg Wraps – Viking Calf Wraps

These Winingas leg wraps are an authentic reproduction of medieval calf wraps worn during the Viking Age and early Middle Ages. Made from 100% breathable cotton, they were used to secure trousers, protect the lower legs, and give a strong warrior appearance.

This complete set includes two cotton leg wraps, one for each leg, along with solid brass fibula pins for secure fastening and historical accuracy. The cotton fabric is strong, comfortable and suitable for long hours of wear during LARP, festivals, or stage performances.

Each wrap measures about 368 cm (144.8 in) long and 10 cm (4 in) wide, for full calf coverage and helping in multiple wrapping styles. The brass pins measure 3 cm (1.1 in) in length with 2 mm thickness, making them easy to fasten while maintaining a period-correct look.

Historical Significance: Known as winingas in Old Norse, these leg wraps were commonly worn by Vikings, Saxons, and early medieval warriors. They helped keep trousers in place, protected the calves from rough terrain, reduced chafing from boots and armor, and gave warmth.
