Embrace the timeless practicality and rugged style of the Viking warrior with these hand-crafted Viking arm wraps. Known as “winingas” in Old Norse, these garments were worn by Norse warriors, farmers, and travelers from the 9th to 11th centuries, for both warmth and use.
Crafted from a durable blend of 70% wool and 30% nylon, these wraps are crafted for long-lasting use, for warmth, breathability, and moisture resistance. The wool retains heat even in damp conditions, making these wraps ideal for cold climates, and the nylon ensures that the wraps will hold their shape, giving a smooth, comfortable fit.
Each wrap is about 254 cm (100 inches) in length and 5 cm (2 inches) in width, they are perfect fit for different arm sizes. The set includes two matching wraps, one for each arm. They come with solid brass fibula pins for secure fastening. These fibula pins are functional, providing a quick and traditional method to fasten the wraps around your forearms or legs.
The Viking arm wraps are inspired by authentic Norse garments found at archaeological sites like Birka (Sweden) and Hedeby (Germany). They also helped keep the sleeves snug under armor and tunics, preventing snagging on weapons or tools.
Whether you’re participating in a Viking-themed event, LARP, or simply appreciating the Viking legacy, these arm wraps winingas will bring authenticity and historical flair to your ensemble.
