Built for traditional round shield construction, this Viking Shield Umbo is made from sturdy 14 gauge mild steel. Its domed shape covers the central hand opening of the shield, helping protect the hand while reinforcing the center of the shield.
Domed Shield Boss
The rounded dome design provides space for the hand and grip behind the shield. This traditional Shield Boss shape makes it suitable for Viking-style round shields as well as other medieval and historical shield-making projects.
