Carbon Steel Viking Bearded Axe

This Viking bearded axe is a hand-forged tool inspired by early medieval designs. The axe head is made from carbon steel by traditional forging methods making it long lasting. The bearded shape gives you a longer cutting surface and keeps the top of the axe lighter with easy control. 

Bearded axes were popularly used during the Viking Age for combat, woodworking and daily survival. The extended lower blade helped the warriors to hook shields during battle or perform precise carving work. This design made the Viking axe with bearded axe head very effective in both battles as well as daily use for other tasks.

The axe measures about 23 inches in total length. It has a practical size for use as well as for transport. It is available with two hardwood handle options. Ash wood, which is lightweight, absorbs shocks and helps in fast and agile swings. Teak wood, which is dense and resistant to moisture, so it gives a long life to the axe. Both options give a secure grip.

CARE INSTRUCTONS:

• Wipe the blade clean and dry it after use
• Apply oil to the steel to prevent rusting
• Keep the handle dry and avoid too much of moisture exposure
• Store in a dry place with the leather sheath removed for long storage
