The Viking Wool Tunic is a faithful reproduction of the everyday garment worn by Norsemen across Scandinavia and the Baltic during the Early Middle Ages (8th–11th centuries). Combining historical authenticity with functional design, this tunic reflects the essence of Viking practicality.
Made from 100% recycled wool (420 g/m²), for excellent insulation and breathability. Wool was the material of choice throughout the Viking Age, valued for its ability to retain heat even when damp and for its natural resistance to wear. The diamond twill decorative trim, woven from a blend of 80% wool and 20% nylon (320 g/m²), reflects authentic Viking textile finds. The addition of nylon strengthens the fiber without compromising its historical appearance.
The diamond twill weave was one of the most prestigious textile patterns of the Viking world, found in archaeological discoveries from Haithabu (Hedeby), Birka, and other Norse settlements.
This tunic includes inserted gores at the hem, allowing a natural flare and added room for movement. Additionally, gussets are placed under the arms, providing reinforcement and increased mobility for the wearer.
