This garment is closely linked to the bravery and faith of the Templar Knights from the 12th to 14th centuries. In medieval times, the surcoat showed a knight’s loyalty and strong belief. The light color meant purity and the bold red cross, as an appliqué on the front, showed their promise to protect the Holy Land. Templar knights were easy to recognise on the battlefield, and their appearance often created fear among their enemies.
This surcoat keeps that same historical style. It is made from strong but soft 220 GSM cotton canvas, which makes it light, breathable, and comfortable to wear for long periods during training, LARP events or stage performances. The fabric fits smoothly and staying tough enough for repeated use. It fits well over armor, giving enough room to move, and can be adjusted easily with a belt or cord. The long length is similar to the surcoats worn by medieval knights to protect their armor and keep it cooler under the hot sun.
For easy movement, the surcoat has slits in the front, back, and sides. These slits aid in moving freely while walking, running, fighting or riding a horse. They prevent the cloth from pulling or tightening, making it much easier to mount or dismount a horse and move naturally during activity.
Whether it is used for museum displays, reenactments, themed festivals or medieval events, this surcoat is a respectful tribute to the warriors who played a major role in shaping medieval history.
