Square Roman Shield Boss

Positioned at the center of the shield, the boss has a defensive role by protecting the shield-bearer’s hand from sword strikes and impacts. Its dome helps deflect attacks away from the hand. Beyond protection, the bold, historically inspired look of the Roman umbo has a commanding Roman aesthetic, so it ideal for Roman themes, LARP combat, theatrical use, or museum displays.

The umbo comes pre-drilled with four mounting holes for installation and is supplied complete with mushroom-head steel rivets and washers, for a secure fit.
