The Roman Pompeii Gladius is the most iconic and widespread version of the Roman legionary sword. Named after archaeological finds in Pompeii, this sword became the standard issue for Roman infantry during the 1st to 3rd centuries CE, replacing earlier types such as the Hispaniensis and Mainz Gladius. Unlike the leaf-shaped Mainz, the Pompeii Gladius is has its straight, parallel-edged blade with a strong triangular point perfectly suited for powerful thrusts in formation and equally effective for short, controlled cuts.
This collector’s sword has all the features of the historical weapon:
-

-
Hand-forged from steel, for strength and historical authenticity.
-
A carefully crafted wooden hilt and grip, shaped for comfortable handling.
-
A beautifully made scabbard in black leather with polished brass fittings and suspension rings, allowing it to be displayed in true Roman fashion on a belt.
-
Weighs approx. 1.68 kg, giving it a realistic presence when handled or displayed.
