Our Medieval Latchet Shoes, a faithful reconstruction of footwear worn between 1200–1500 AD across Europe. Based on archaeological finds from Schleswig and Constance, Germany, this design shows the practical elegance and craftsmanship of medieval women’s fashion.
These shoes have a classic latchet-style strap and brass buckle closure, for a comfortable & secure fit. The design was favored by both the urban middle class and rural wearers for its balance of durability, simplicity, and refined style.
Each pair is handcrafted from genuine leather, for authentic texture and flexibility. The smooth leather sole is stitched and riveted for strength, ensuring a reliable foundation for reenactments, LARP, or stage performances.
The latchet shoes were among the most common forms of medieval footwear during the High and Late Middle Ages.
