This Medieval hauberk is crafted from 8mm internal diameter round riveted rings, giving a denser weave than standard mail. This gives better protection and a more authentic look. Made from 18-gauge mild steel, each ring is individually riveted to create a strong & flexible defense against strikes and cuts. The natural oiled finish helps protect the steel and gives it a true medieval look.
- Material: Mild Steel
- Ring Type: Round Rings
- Ring Size: 8mm internal diameter
- Ring Gauge: 18 Gauge
- Riveting Type: Round Riveted / Dome Riveted
- Finish: Natural

Hauberks were widely used in Europe from the 11th to the 14th century. This type of mail armor with smaller rings was often used by experienced warriors because it gave better protection compared to larger ring mail.
The classic 4-in-1 weave pattern spreads the force of impact while still allowing good movement. This makes the chainmail shirt comfortable enough for long use during events or reenactments. As a complete chainmail armor shirt, it offers both protection and flexibility.
The chainmail will arrve with a coat of oil on it to prevent rusting during shipping and storage, please wipe it off before use.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
- After each use, wipe the hauberk with a dry cloth to remove sweat and moisture
- Apply a coat of oil from time to time to prevent rust
- Store in a dry, ventilated place
- Avoid damp areas
Note
Each Medieval hauberk is meticulously handcrafted, link by link, from thousands of interlinked rings, delivering exceptional historical accuracy, strength, and unmistakable artistry of traditional methods.
As each piece is assembled entirely by hand, you may occasionally notice a rivet that sits slightly proud, feels subtly looser than others, or even a missing ring. Such small variations are a natural hallmark of genuine, artisan-made mail, just as in the Middle Ages, and reflect the human care invested. Any adjustment, if desired, can be easily made using basic pliers and a spare ring, preserving both integrity and historical authenticity.
