Lost-wax casting, or cire perdue, is an ancient technique dating back over 6,000 years. A wax model is first shaped, then encased in clay or plaster. When heated, the wax melts , leaving a detailed mold into which molten bronze is poured. Once cooled, the piece is cleaned and finished. This method, used since the Bronze Age makes every item unique, precise and true to tradition.
