These Late medieval sabatons are handcrafted from 18 gauge mild steel and polished to a bright, mirror-like finish. The sabatons are made from multiple steel plates joined with rivets, so the sections move naturally with the foot. Genuine leather straps with adjustment holes and mild steel buckles help secure them around the foot, while the back plate gives additional coverage and a comfortable fit. They is supplied with a light coating of oil to help protect it from rust during shipping and storage.
Historical Inspiration
Sabatons became an important part of European plate armor during the 14th and 15th centuries. They were made to protect the feet, which were difficult to shield. As plate armor developed, articulated steel plates were shaped around the foot with a long, pointed shape.
Uses & Applications
These sabatons armor pieces are suitable for LARP, cosplay, costumes, stage use, displays, photography, and light combat activities. They can be worn over suitable footwear and adjusted using the leather straps and buckles. Their articulated plates allow greater freedom of movement, making them practical for walking, standing, and costume activities.
The polished steel gives the medieval armor boots a striking appearance, while the riveted plates create flexible articulation for easier movement
