This Sword Frog is handcrafted from genuine leather of thickness of about 3-3.2 mm, which gives it excellent strength and shape retaining quality even after repeated use at the events. In Medieval times, people used thick leather because it increased the longevity of the product, did not stretch easily, and could securely hold weapons without loosely hanging. Â
Sword frogs were commonly worn by knights and soldiers to carry their swords safely without using their hands. This helped in keeping the swords close to their body, giving the person more freedom of movement and keeping the blade ready while walking, riding or standing.
The frog has three adjustable buckles, which help in balancing the sword properly and can be adjusted as per its width, thereby preventing it from swinging or dangling. This makes it comfortable for wearing it for long hours and reliable during movement.
Two finish options are available:
- Brown leather with solid brass buckles : Brass was widely used in medieval gear because it does not rust, forms a warm aged patina with time, and adds a classic historical look.
- Black leather with nickel-plated buckles: Nickel plating gives strong resistance to corrosion, stays bright, and gives a clean, modern appearance.
This piece works perfectly for LARP, stage use, cosplay and costumes. It also pairs well with a Leather sword frog setup for belts and baldrics, for stability and visual look. As a medieval sword frog, it shows the historical carry methods used. Many users also choose it as a frog sword solution for hands-free carry or as a frog belt sword accessory for secure belt mounting.
