This Roman-style Bronze Fibula is a recreated artifact of early Imperial Rome, based on archaeological designs from the 1st to 3rd centuries AD. Designed to fasten cloaks, robes, or tunics, it features a distinctive curved bow and flared head, hallmarks of fibulae commonly found across Roman provinces.

What sets this piece apart is its lost-wax cast construction, an ancient technique practiced by Roman metalworkers to produce high-detail, durable bronze items. The result is a brooch that not only secures your garment with historical precision but also serves as a testament to ancient craftsmanship.

The fibula is available in two size variants to suit different cloak weights or visual preferences, and in two distinct finishes: a warm polished bronze or an aged, antique bronze patina for a more timeworn appearance.

Whether worn during historical events, museum presentations, or as a collector’s piece, this Bronze Fibula represents the essence of Roman identity and refined utilitarian design. They feature a hand wound spring, same pattern as original, not a modern latch.

Lost-wax casting (also known as cire perdue) is an ancient metalworking process used to create intricate objects. A wax model of the item is first made, encased in a heat-resistant mold, and then melted out, leaving a hollow cavity. Molten metal is then poured into this mold. Once cooled, the mold is broken, and the solid metal object is revealed.

This process, widely used by Roman artisans, ensures that each piece carries fine detail, subtle textures, and unique character that cannot be achieved through modern mass production methods.
