Inspired by One of Europe’s Finest Medieval Armors
The Churburg Breastplate is a faithful recreation of one of the most celebrated pieces of medieval armor preserved at Churburg Castle (Item CH18) in Northern Italy. Inspired by the original armor dating to the early 15th century.
Handcrafted for Strength and Historical Accuracy
Handcrafted from durable 16-gauge mild steel, this churburg italian breastplate is built for authenticity and reliability. The carefully contoured shape was inspired by historical designs that helped deflect the force of sword strikes and battlefield blows and for allowing the wearer to move naturally. Both the interior and exterior are smoothly polished to create a clean, professional finish that also helps resist corrosion. Genuine leather straps and sturdy buckles with multiple holes complete the armor, for a secure and adjustable fit.
Perfect for Reenactment, Display & Medieval Costumes
Whether you’re stepping onto the reenactment field or building an impressive historical collection, this italian breastplate is designed to stand out. It pairs beautifully with a gambeson, arming doublet to create a complete medieval ensemble. It is ideal for historical reenactments, LARP, Renaissance fairs, theatre use, museums and displays.
A Legacy Forged in Steel
Imagine a seasoned knight preparing for battle, fastening his polished breastplate before riding onto the field beneath his banner. More than protective equipment, armor like this represented skill, honor, and social standing. Inspired by 15th century churburg armor, this churburg breastplate carries that same timeless look.
Care & Maintenance
- Your churburg breastplate ships with a protective coat of oil so wipe it clean before first use.
- Apply a light coat of oil after use to help protect the steel from moisture and rust.
- Keep the armor clean and dry after each use.
- Condition the genuine leather straps occasionally with leather balm or oil for flexibility.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from damp environments.
Note: Each breastplate is individually handcrafted therefore differences in finish, rivets, polishing, and shaping are natural.
