Inspired by the Historic Richard Pembridge Great Helm
This 14th Century Great Helm is inspired by the famous helmet associated with Sir Richard Pembridge, an English knight of the late medieval period. Inspired by 14th century, this helmet shows the powerful appearance and construction used by knights during peak medieval warfare. The design has a slightly sloped conical crown and a pointed central ridge on the faceplate, helping to deflect strikes during combat. Decorative quatrefoil cutouts near the lower edge recreate the iconic details seen on surviving historical examples, giving this Pembridge great helm an authentic look.
Handcrafted Steel Construction with Comfortable Fit
Made from 18 gauge mild steel, this medieval great helm has a solid build with manageable weight for LARP events, cosplay, stage performances, theatre productions, medieval fairs, and display. The helmet includes an internal liner to improve comfort and help distribute weight evenly during long hours of wear. An adjustable chin strap with buckle provides a secure fit and keeps the helmet stable while moving. Ventilation holes across the face section improve airflow while giving the enclosed appearance of a classic knight great helm.
Ideal for LARP, Events, Display and Costume Use
The Great Helm became one of the most recognizable helmets of medieval Europe and was commonly worn over a mail coif or padded hood. Its enclosed construction gives excellent facial protection during tournaments and battle. The helmet arrives with a light protective layer of oil applied to the steel surface to help prevent rust during shipping and storage. Please wipe the helmet with a dry cloth before first use.
