Guage

Our Leg armor collection is inspired by the protective equipment worn by warriors throughout medieval history, to defend the lower body during combat with mobility. In the Middle Ages, leg armor was important for knights and soldiers, as the legs were highly exposed to sword strikes, polearms, and mounted combat. Today, leg armor remains an essential part of reenactment, LARP combat, stage use, and complete armour displays.

History & Materials

Historically, leg armor evolved from simple mail coverings to more advanced plate constructions as warfare progressed. Our leg armor is hand crafted from quality steel for strength, durability, and long-term use. Different steel gauges are used depending on the function and level of protection required. Finishes are available in polished steel for a classic medieval appearance or blackened surfaces for a darker, battle-worn look. Adjustable straps give proper wearability and comfort.

Types of Leg Armor

Our leg armor collection includes three main types: greaves for lower leg and shin protection, cuisses for the thighs, and poleyns or knee defenses to guard the joints. Together, these components allow reenactors to assemble historically accurate leg armor. Whether used individually or as a full set, our range of  leg armor delivers authenticity, protection, and a strong medieval look for use.
