Leather Greaves

Our Leather greaves are inspired by the lower-leg protection worn throughout medieval history by warriors, soldiers, and light infantry. Historically, greaves were used to protect the shins and calves from cuts, glancing blows, and impact during combat while allowing greater mobility than full metal armour. Leather greaves offered a practical balance between protection, comfort, and flexibility.

History, Use & Protection

In medieval warfare, leather greaves were commonly worn by foot soldiers and archers, either on their own or combined with other armour pieces. They helped shield the legs during marches, and campaigns while remaining lightweight and easier to wear for extended periods. Leather greaves were especially valued for their adaptability in varied terrain and climates.
