Built for open-fire cooking, this Iron Camping Tripod is made from hand-forged iron and is made to hold pots, kettles, and cauldrons over campfire. It has a three-leg construction with a stable base, with long twisted sections on each leg which give a textured surface for better grip when using the tripod. The pointed, claw-like feet help the legs hold their position on suitable outdoor ground.
Traditional Design & Historical Inspiration
Three-legged iron stands have been useful for cooking over open fires sine a very long time. Before modern stoves travellers, soldiers, campers, and households used such a tripod to suspend a cooking vessel over fire for cooking meals.
This design has the same simple and practical design. The open frame leaves plenty of room for the fire below and the central hanging hook allows cookware to be positioned directly above the flames.
Hand-Forged Iron
Made from hand-forged iron, the tripod has a strong, rustic character with forging details. The legs have a twisted section that gives it an attractive decorative look and even helps in easily gripping the stand for moving and positioning it.
The three legs spread outward from the top to create a proper support structure, and the central hanging hook provides a convenient way to suspend cookware over the fire. A black protective finish helps protect the iron from moisture and surface corrosion.
Practical Outdoor Use
The camp fire tripod is suitable for hanging a variety of cookware, like cooking pots, kettles, and cauldrons. The cooking tripod can be folded or positioned for transport and setup, making it convenient to take along for events.
Care & Maintenance
- Allow the tripod to cool completely before cleaning.
- Wipe away food residue, dirt, and moisture after each use.
- Keep it in a dry place when stored.
- Apply a light coat of suitable oil occasionally to help protect the iron.
Important: Always place the viking cooking tripod on stable, suitable ground and make sure the hanging cookware is properly balanced before use. Allow the tripod and cookware to cool completely before moving them.
Note: Because each piece is individually hand forged, small differences in the twisting, forging marks, surface texture, and black finish are natural.
