Complete your medieval armor setup with this Medieval Leg Armor, made from mild steel and available in 16 gauge and 18 gauge options. The set has shaped upper-thigh cuisses with articulated knee cops (poleyns) and winged side guards for traditional leg coverage.
Choose 16 gauge for reenactment-oriented use or the lighter 18 gauge option for LARP, cosplay, costume and stage use.
This Knight Leg Armor is available in two steel thicknesses to suit different requirements.
16 Gauge: A heavier steel option intended for medieval reenactments, SCA events and historical armor setups.
18 Gauge: A lighter option that is easier to wear for longer periods and well suited to LARP, cosplay, Renaissance fairs, costumes, theater and display.
Articulated Knee Design
The cuisses connect to articulated poleyns that cover the knees. Overlapping steel plates allow the knee sections to move as the legs bend, giving better mobility.
Winged side plates add coverage around the knee and give these Medieval Steel Leg Guards their traditional armor look.
Each steel plate is shaped to follow the natural contours of the thighs and knees. This helps the armor sit more naturally against the legs.
The front has a polished steel finish, while the back has a blackened finish that helps protect the inner steel surface.
Adjustable Leather Straps
Genuine leather straps with metal buckles allow the armor to be adjusted around the legs for a secure fit.
The upper attachment points allow the Steel Cuisses and Poleyns to be suspended from a suitable waist belt or arming garment, helping keep the armor correctly positioned during movement.
Protective Oil Coating
A light layer of protective oil is applied to the steel before shipping to help prevent rust during transportation and storage.
Simply wipe away excess oil with a clean, dry cloth before use. Occasional light oiling is recommended to maintain the steel.
Care & Maintenance
- Wipe away excess protective oil before wearing.
- Keep the steel clean and dry after use.
- Apply a light coat of suitable oil to help prevent rust.
- Store in a dry location away from excessive humidity.
Note: Each armor set is individually handcrafted. Minor variations in shaping, polishing, surface texture and leather appearance are natural and make each piece slightly different.
