Our Type 8 Viking Leather Boots, faithfully inspired by archaeological finds from Hedeby, York, and Birka, key Viking trade centers from the 9th–10th centuries. These ankle-height boots recreate the practical & elegant footwear worn by Norse warriors, traders, and travelers.
Handcrafted from 100% genuine leather, these boots feature the classic toggle and strap closure, a design directly based on excavated Viking footwear. The toggles themselves are made from the same strong leather, ensuring a fully authentic construction without metal fasteners.
Each pair includes a sturdy 5 mm leather sole, offering both flexibility and durability for long wear during reenactments, LARP events, or daily medieval attire. The soft interior molds naturally to your foot over time, giving you the comfort and authenticity that only real leather can provide.
Practical, minimalist, and unmistakably Norse, these boots are ideal for anyone who values historical accuracy, craftsmanship, and timeless design.
Viking turnshoes of this style were discovered across Scandinavia and Northern Europe, especially in Hedeby (Haithabu). The distinctive leather toggles and strap closures helped in quick fastening without metal hardware, making these boots both practical and lightweight.
