This Double Loop Medieval Belt Buckle is a modern reproduction of a historic buckle style which was known as a “double loop” or “spectacle” buckle. This form was used very popularly in the late 14th century through the 17th century, based on archaeological finds across Europe.
The buckle design has two rounded loops divided by a central bar, sometimes called a pointed or diamond-loop style due to its outer edges. During the Middle Ages, buckles were very important for tying belts, clothing, straps, and gear. By the late medieval period, belts and buckles also became symbols of status.
Each bronze belt buckle is made from solid bronze by using the traditional lost-wax casting method, a very old process which was used to create fine and precise details.
Designed to fit belts up to 1.5 cm width, this buckle is suitable for narrow straps used in medieval belts, pouches, and costume fittings. It is available in Bronze and Antique Bronze finishes, so that you can choose between a brighter historical look or a naturally aged look.
Perfect for LARP, historical costuming, or leathercraft projects, this Double Loop Medieval Belt Buckle is perfect for your desired needs.
