Handcrafted from ethically sourced ox horn, this Viking Drinking Horn has a detailed Vegvísir and Jörmungandr engraving, finished with decorative brass fittings. The horn is polished to highlight its natural colour, grain and organic character, making each piece slightly different.
Its curved shape and traditional-inspired design make it suitable for drinking, gifting, Viking-themed gatherings, historical-inspired events and display.
Natural Ox Horn Construction
Each Viking Horn is made from ethically sourced ox horn, a natural material with its own variations in colour, pattern, shape and surface.
The horn is carefully polished to reveal its natural appearance. Because ox horn is an organic material, size, circumference, colour and shape may vary from one horn to another.
Vegvísir & Jörmungandr Engraving
The centre of the horn has an engraved Vegvísir, an Icelandic magical stave associated with guidance and protection.
Surrounding the design is Jörmungandr, the great Midgard Serpent from Norse mythology. According to the myths, Jörmungandr is a giant serpent that encircles the world.
Together, these two designs give the horn a strong Norse-inspired character.
Brass Rim & Decorative Tip
The opening of the horn is finished with a decorative brass rim with intricate knotwork. The bottom is completed with a brass tip engraved with a detailed crocodile-inspired shape.
Brass does not rust like iron or steel. Over time, it can naturally darken and develop a patina.
Its approximately 300 – 500 ml in capacity makes it convenient for drinks such as mead, ale, cider and other cold beverages.
Avoid hot liquids, as heat can affect natural horn.
This Norse Drinking Horn is suitable for:
- Viking-themed feasts and gatherings
- Renaissance and historical-inspired events
- LARP and fantasy events
- Viking costume accessories
- Medieval-inspired celebrations
- Home display and collections
- Gifting for history and Norse mythology enthusiasts
Care & Maintenance
- Hand wash with mild soap and lukewarm water.
- Do not place in a dishwasher.
- Do not soak the horn for long periods.
- Avoid hot or boiling liquids.
- Dry properly after every use.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct heat and sunlight.
- Apply beeswax occasionally to maintain the horns surface.
Note: This is a natural ox horn product. Because nature does not paint the same brush stroke twice, each horn is unique, so the colour, pattern, curvature, circumference and exact dimensions may vary.
