Authentic Medieval Riveted Chainmail Design
This handcrafted riveted chainmail hauberk is inspired by the protective armour worn by medieval warriors for centuries. The hauberk was one of the most trusted armors for defence in the Middle ages because it was flexible, durable and had a great coverage. The medieval hauberk has full sleeves and a long knee length cut which helps in protection across the torso, shoulders, arms, and upper legs while still helping with freedom of movement during combat and use.
Durable 8mm Round Riveted and Alternate Flat Solid Rings
This hauberk chainmail is handmade with 8mm internal diameter rings in the European 4-in-1 weave pattern, where each ring passes through four others and creates a strong and flexible mesh. The chainmail uses round riveted rings with alternate flat solid rings, for both durability and authenticity. The solid flat rings help strengthen the overall weave and even reduce the chance of rings opening under stress. Crafted from durable 18 gauge steel, the chainmail is strong , flexible with manageable weight for use.
Functional Protection with Historic Appeal
The natural steel finish gives this medieval chainmail a rugged and authentic look that closely resembles surviving historical examples. The long flowing design drapes naturally over the body, creating the iconic look like medieval knights and warriors. The chainmail arrived with a layer of oil on it to prevent rusting during shipping and storage. Please wipe it off before use.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
- Wipe the chainmail dry after use to prevent moisture buildup
- Apply a light coat of oil from time to time to prevent rust
- Store in a cool, dry place away from humidity
- Avoid prolonged exposure to water or damp conditions
Note: This chainmail hauberk is handcrafted, link by link, from thousands of interlinked rings, delivering exceptional historical accuracy, strength, and unmistakable artistry of traditional methods. As each piece is assembled entirely by hand, you may occasionally notice a rivet that sits slightly proud, feels subtly looser than others, or even a missing ring. Such small variations are a natural hallmark of genuine, artisan-made mail, just as in the Middle Ages, and reflect the human care invested. Any adjustment, if desired, can be easily made using basic pliers and a spare ring, preserving both integrity and historical authenticity.
