Bring the look of late medieval and early Renaissance to life with this beautiful renaissance breastplate, which is inspired by the designs of 16th century. Built for both appearance and practical use, this striking front plate armour is durable, comfortable and visually appealing which makes it perfect for LARP, cosplay, stage use, and medieval collections for display.
Crafted from durable 18 gauge steel, this renaissance cuirass is protective with a manageable weight for wearing it during events and performances for long hours. The polished steel surface gives the armour an authentic and commanding appearance, while the handcrafted construction ensures that each piece has its own unique character.
One of the defining features of this medieval breastplate is the raised central ridge, historically known as a tapul. This ridge was not designed only for appearance , because it also increases the structural strength of the plate and helps redirect or deflect incoming strikes. Such ridged breastplates became a common feature in Renaissance armour because they added protection without significantly increasing weight.
The lower edge of the armour is decorated with a row of striking brass rivets which give it a striking appearance. Brass naturally resists rust and corrosion, making it ideal for long-term use. Over time, the brass develops a darker natural patina that gives the armour an aged and authentic look.
Rolled edges around the neck and arm openings improve comfort during movement and help reduce sharp contact against clothing or skin. Adjustable leather straps at the shoulders and sides allow the armour to fit securely.
This cuirass armor is based on front plate designs commonly seen during the transition from the late Middle Ages into the Renaissance period.
This renaissance breastplate is perfect for Renaissance fair, LARP events, stage production, fantasy costume, or for armour display.
