Medieval Bone Comb

This Bone comb is a handcrafted grooming tool which is made from ethically sourced animal bone. It has a one-sided design with fine teeth for easy and smooth use. The surface is carefully hand carved and polished to show the natural bone grain look , with design detailing on the top edge which shows a rustic medieval character.

The comb is lightweight, easy to carry, and great for daily use or for travelling as well. Bone was commonly used for grooming tools during Viking and medieval times because it was smooth, naturally available and non-static for the hair. It did not damage the hair and also could be shaped into fine teeth for use. Historical finds show that the medieval bone comb and Viking bone comb was used as daily personal care items and was used by both women and men. 

The major advantage of using bone for combs is that it is naturally anti-static. It does not cause friction and prevents the hair from frizz. This makes it suitable as a bone comb and bone hair comb for maintaining beards and hair easily and properly , also reducing hair breakage. The Bone comb is suitable for daily grooming, LARP, cosplay, or for display. It has a compact size which makes it travel friendly and easy to carry. 

We have two versions available, one with a leather sheath for storage and protection and one without it for your own customisation. 

Since the bone surface is brittle, handle with ease and care as it may break if it falls.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• Store in a dry place and avoid moisture exposure
• Wipe with a soft cloth after use
• Do not use harsh chemicals, soaps, or detergents
• Apply a light coat of natural oil time to time to maintain its shine
• Avoid extreme heat and handle with care

Note: Every bone comb is uniquely shaped by nature. Because these items are crafted from real, organic bone, they carry the natural story of their origin. Rather than flawless uniformity, you will notice subtle differences in surface texture, grain patterns, and tonal variations.
