The Alaric Viking Cloak in Diamond Twill Wool pays homage to the garments which protected travelers, warriors, and seafarers of the Early Middle Ages. Viking Cloaks like these were very frequently used during the Viking Age (8th-11th centuries), not just for protection from the northern winds, but also as symbols of identity and prestige.
Our “Alaric Cloak” is made from 80% wool and 20% nylon blend with a fabric weight of 320 g/m², it provides insulation and breath ability of wool with the strength and durability of nylon.
The diamond twill weave, a pattern often recovered from Norse archaeological sites and early medieval textiles, makes the fabric both elegant and authentic. Its color displays the cool, stormy palette of northern Europe.
Each viking cloak’s edges are neatly finished in a durable double fold, for a clean, structured drape that resists fraying and enhances longevity.
Designed for flexibility, the viking cape can be worn fastened with a brooch or pin over one shoulder, wrapped across both, or draped freely depending on the wearer.
Our medieval cloaks are handcrafted by skilled artisans therefore slight variations in weave and tone add to the authenticity and handmade charm.
