This Gambeson vest is a double-layer quilted garment which provides padding, comfort as well as flexibility during training or LARP events. It has a durable canvas cotton outer shell with internal multi-fibre wadding that helps in absorbing impact and also prevents chafing from the armor. The half-sleeve design is great because it provides better arm movement as well as helps with more airflow.Â
The medieval gambeson was widely used between the 12th and 15th centuries by soldiers and men at arms. It gave protection even when worn as a standalone piece or when worn as an underlayer beneath mail or plate. This gambeson vest has reinforced stitching with a quilted design so that it retains its shape and is great for long term use.Â
This Gambeson vest works well as protective gambeson armor or as an underlayer. The Cotton gambeson outer layer helps in preventing friction and the internal padding of this quilted gambeson prevents sagging, for long-term comfort and use.
